Treatments for your little ones
From birth on, we only want what’s best for our children. Pediatric physiotherapy provides a solid foundation for their development and for reaching their full potential as they grow.
At Physio Atlas, a team of dedicated physiotherapists will provide your little one with treatment for various conditions from the first days of life:
- Torticollis/Plagiocephaly
- Delayed motor development (difficulty sitting up, difficulty crawling, delayed walking, difficulty with stairs, learning to ride a bicycle, etc.)
- Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD, also known as Dyspraxia)
- Musculoskeletal disorders (club feet, scoliosis, sprains, pain, rehabilitation following a fracture, etc.)
- Sports injuries
Treatment will include an initial assessment and subsequent visits as needed to achieve your child’s identified goals. Using an interactive and playful approach, the physiotherapist will guide you through the various exercises and stimulation activities that correspond to your child’s needs.
Sessions are in person. When necessary, we also offer a tele-rehabilitation service to adapt to the needs of families.
For more information on pediatric physiotherapy, please contact one of our physiotherapists.
It is best to arrive 5-10 minutes before your appointment to fill out your child’s contact/health information form.
For 0-2 year-old children
- Choose the right time of day
- When your child is rested
- Ideally not immediately after a bottle or breastfeeding
- It is interesting when both parents can be present (currently to be discussed on a case-by-case basis due to the pandemic context and the sanitary measures in place)
- To optimize the meeting, it is preferable to leave your baby’s siblings at home.
- Bring a few toys that are meaningful to your child, this will encourage their participation throughout the meeting.
- Provide food and water (thermos of hot water, commercial infant formula, etc.) for your child as needed while you are in the clinic
- Bring diapers and a change of clothes
Children over 2 years old
- Provide comfortable clothing that allows for easy exposure of the area to be assessed and gives your child full freedom of movement
- Bring a pair of shoes frequently worn at home or at daycare/school
During the meeting, our pediatric physiotherapists will make sure to respect your child’s rhythm. Breaks will be given according to his or her needs at the time in order to optimize his or her experience and yours in our clinic.
